Disney Anniversary Trip- Day 7- Epcot, Meet and Greet with the Princesses at Akerhus, rides and lunch with Remi in France

Happy Monday everyone, sorry I am running a bit behind this morning. The good news is I have a ton to share with you from  day 7 of our anniversary trip.

When we woke up the sun was just rising (it was early because I scheduled a breakfast at Epcot at 8:15, I know what was I thinking?!) and it was a beautiful view from the 4th floor of Triton as we waited for the elevator.

Then not only did we notice the sunrise but we saw all these hot air balloons.

There were between 6-10 balloons out that morning and it was really amazing to see.

We were the only ones on the bus so we chatted with our driver about the balloons and her family on the way to Epcot

We decided since we were having breakfast with the princesses we would do our Flynn and Rapunzel outfits today, plus our passport for the world showcase had Flynn and Rapunzel traveling the countries, so we looked the part 🙂

It is really cool to book a breakfast before the park opens because everything is empty and the photos are great

Akerhus is another character dining experience, this one is princesses and they vary. Like Ohana and 1900 Park Fare, you check in and do a photo (again this one can be purchased or added to your photopass+), this one is with a princess and we got Belle that morningbelle1

This is a more European breakfast, the bring you a platter with eggs, bacon and sausage and there is a buffet or pastries, smoked fish, meat, and other more Mediterranean fare (I suppose this is what our buffet will be like in Paris.)

Test Track was fun, I like the new create a car part.  The ride still seems more than 65 miles an hour and it is a lot of fun. After Test Track we headed over to the Lands pavilion and used one of our DVC fast passes to ride soaring

Even though it was early in the day, soaring already had a 90 minute stand by so we were quite happy to have our DVC fast pass, we asked to be in the front and were still in the ride within 15 minutes.

We like Soarin’ but definitely will not wait more than 30 mins to ride it and to us if you aren’t in the front, the ride is pretty much ruined by feet.

We also like the safety video from Patrick Warburton, however, when it comes to the ride itself I wish they had a Florida and California version. I don’t like that Soarin’ and Muppets only have videos for Disneyland, especially when you are at Disney World.

The video is also getting old and we were soaring with dust particles half the ride, at first we thought it was a little plane or a hang glider, but no, it was dust 🙂

After the ride we saw this little shop and they had these neat little gardens, so we got one for Hubby’s mom since she had been watching little man while we were on vacation

I find living with the land very soothing and really neat that Epcot grows some of the food you actually eat in the park. I also like learning while having fun, so living with the land is still high on my list even though there were no Cinderella pumpkins when we rode.

From there we headed to Nemo and Friends to check it out

I didn’t take any pictures during the ride, was busy comparing this one to Disneyland and of course the most obvious difference is you are already under the sea in a clam mobile no big trip under the sea in a submarine.

It is cute but the story seems a little confusing, is this during the movie or after, not too sure. But I do like their use of the aquarium at the end (projecting the animated images into the real aquarium)  and Pearl, she is pretty funny.

I absolutely love Figment and would love if the whole ride was like the end, just like when he was first introduced and they brought the dream finder back as well, but I am so happy he is still here.

As we made our way through the countries to head to lunch, we stopped inside Mexico and rode the three caballeros ride.

I love the Mexico Pavilion, I love how dark and cool it always is inside and I love that it is like its own little city, it has the San Angel restaurant, a market, a jewelry shop and the ride plus other stuff like I believe a new Tequila bar.mexico epcot

After we rode, we got our first stamp on our passport and an cute thing for our anniversary in Spanish. This was a lot of fun and seeing as we live in Texas, it was the only one I would be able to read the whole trip.

Les Chefs for Lunch

We made our way over to France and checked in a we were seated in the side area, it was very pretty and one thing I love about Epcot is that the staff from each country, usually is from that country, everyone we encountered in France was in fact French. Pretty neat!

I was so excited about how much fun we were having this day, that I had almost forgot why I booked this meal to begin with, Remi!!

He was so cute, he had a handler (some one to push his cheese cart) named Armando and he was a trip. The woman next to us asked to see the mouse and he questioned her about whether she was a health inspector. He said he was a rat and asked her if she knew the difference and gave her a hard time that she must be a health inspector since she didn’t know Remi’s name. Was a cute little performance, made me giggle. Remi also moves and squeaks and interacts with Armando.

All and all was a very nice lunch, if just for the escargot and seeing Remi. I am happy I have finally experienced some of what the world showcase has to offer.

Anniversary Disney Trip Report – Day 2- Ohana Breakfast, Magic Kingdom, Character meet n greets and more Haunted Mansion

Hi Guys, we are finally on day 2 of our vacation. This was supposed to be our first day at The Magic Kingdom but of course, we had a quick sneak peek the night before.

So Day 2, is the Official first day at the Magic Kingdom, starting with breakfast at Ohana, (I know we were just there,lol) there will be characters, rides, and plenty of photos 🙂

We hopped on the bus to the Magic Kingdom and from there took the Monorail to the Polynesian Hotel for breakfast.

This particular character meet and greet, involved Lilo and Stitch, (since we are supposed to be in Hawaii) Mickey, (complete with lei and Hawaiian garb) and his trusty pal, Pluto.

When you arrive the give you leis and send you to a photographer to get your picture taken, you can buy the pack later for $32 (for 1 8×10 and 4 4×6)or if you signed up for photopass plus (more about photopass plus here) like we did you get the pictures free and the great part is they also add them to your pass if you want more copies later.  We did four character dining events during this trip, so our Photopass plus practically paid for itself in just those photo packages. Plus, the pictures in the dining packages also come in really cute folders pertaining to the dining location and sometimes include recipes and other info about the restaurant.

Breakfast at Ohana was fun, the food was great and if you love to meet characters, this is a great way to do it without the lines and without using up ride time. They come to you and you get a decent amount of time with them. I would recommend doing a breakfast with the kids before the park, it is alot of fun and will get the kids ready for all the excitement of the parks.  Most or all of them are buffets as well, so it is a good value whether you are on the dining plan on not.

Once inside they “wake” up Jose and the show begins. As usual some people walked out of the show, I guess it is not for everyone. But me on the other hand, I was doing tiki chants and singing the tiki room song all day 🙂

The line was amazingly short so I was unable to get pictures of the line decor, which I love so much, including the skeletons playing chess.

We were a little confused when we realized that Black beard had taken over for Davy Jones, especially since we were told that was one of the differences from Disneyland’s attraction.  However,  I did love the addition of the mermaid skeleton and the singing sirens in the water.

 Splash Mountain was under refurbishment, which is fine, seeing as I am not a big fan of the story or getting wet on rides. So we headed for Thunder Mountain grabbed a fast pass for later and then hopped in line to find out the Train was not running 😦 However, they told us if the ride wasn’t working when our fast pass was up (which it wasn’t) that we could come back and they would honor it at anytime that day.

A very quiet, Splash Mountain

We were trying to decide where to go in the little area behind Splash Mountain when we noticed Jessie and Woody were in this area for a meet n greet, excitedly we hopped into line.

Our autograph page had Buzz and Woody on it and no Jessie, since I was unaware we could meet her but she was so sweet about it. She pointed to Buzz and then put her heart on her chest and mimicked it beating, then she giggled. I forgot about her crush on Buzz.

After the meet n greet, we decided to go visit my favorite place, so I could visit the graveyard in the day light to pay our respects and maybe get to enjoy more of the interactive queue without the lines

My new favorite spot the lake between Frontier land and Liberty Square because you can get The Haunted Mansion and Rapunzel’s Tower in one shot! I love it!

Like I said before we always get Gus and Ezra is my favorite, so that was exciting. The new ghosts work on something like the kinect software and interact more with the guests. I believe Ezra took our spirits and switched them with the other, where as the day before Gus took our heads and traded them.
