Hi Guys, we are finally on day 2 of our vacation. This was supposed to be our first day at The Magic Kingdom but of course, we had a quick sneak peek the night before.
So Day 2, is the Official first day at the Magic Kingdom, starting with breakfast at Ohana, (I know we were just there, lol) there will be characters, rides, and plenty of photos 🙂
Here is the view from our room of the rest of the hotel that morning
We hopped on the bus to the Magic Kingdom and from there took the Monorail to the Polynesian Hotel for breakfast.
Polynesian Resort Downstairs from above Ohana in the morning, is a character dining experience, this was the first of these that we enjoyed and it was really fun. This particular character meet and greet, involved Lilo and Stitch, (since we are supposed to be in Hawaii) Mickey, (complete with lei and Hawaiian garb) and his trusty pal, Pluto.
When you arrive the give you leis and send you to a photographer to get your picture taken, you can buy the pack later for $32 (for 1 8×10 and 4 4×6)or if you signed up for photopass plus (more about photopass plus here) like we did you get the pictures free and the great part is they also add them to your pass if you want more copies later. We did four character dining events during this trip, so our Photopass plus practically paid for itself in just those photo packages. Plus, the pictures in the dining packages also come in really cute folders pertaining to the dining location and sometimes include recipes and other info about the restaurant.
As soon as we got seated, we were surprised by Stitch
He seemed to enjoy my home made autograph book and signed right away, then he took his time and posed with each of us 🙂
Then came Lilo
Look I think Stitch has infected Kris, see the ears!?
Lilo saw them but she smiles anyways
We had some really delicious eggs, I don’t know what they did to them but they were so good. There was also pastries, potatoes, sausage, bacon, fruit with some raspberry yogurt dip, and passion fruit orange juice.
Mickey waffles smothered in yum!
For years, I have heard people go on and on about the Mickey waffles, well now I am a believer. I should have known, anything shaped like Mickey, always tastes best.
While I was devouring Mickey’s head, who should show up but the mouse himself!
Mickey’s Signature Page
Lilo sure thought something was funny!
Stitch came back and we were able to get a shot together, he is so cute! His badness level seemed to be pretty low this morning.
Finally Pluto came to see us, he had been busy all morning, crawling around with the little ones, it was too cute too watch 🙂
Do you like my mustache?
We couldn’t find the page I made for Pluto, so my prince proceeded to draw Pluto for his own page, Pluto loved it!

My impersonation of the Tiki
Breakfast at Ohana was fun, the food was great and if you love to meet characters, this is a great way to do it without the lines and without using up ride time. They come to you and you get a decent amount of time with them. I would recommend doing a breakfast with the kids before the park, it is alot of fun and will get the kids ready for all the excitement of the parks. Most or all of them are buffets as well, so it is a good value whether you are on the dining plan on not.
Now off to the Magic Kingdom
Main Street, USA
Emporium – One of my favorite places to shop and I love the window displays
On Main Street Usa we found Marie from the Aristocats, I was super excited since I thought you could only meet her in France at Epcot
Marie’s Autograph Page
She really is a cutie!
Cinderella’s Castle in all its glory
When we arrived they were doing a show at Cinderella’s Castle, seemed like a day time version of Fantasmic. It was as lucky for me, cause we got to see Maleficent, my favorite villain.
We stopped and took some pictures then headed to Adventureland
We did the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House 1st
My Prince just chillin on the bridge
Man this tree is huge, my 6 ft + hubby looks so tiny
Room complete with steering Wheel
Bedroom, that bed is so tiny!
Bird’s eye view
Outdoor Kitchen, I want one!
After we climbed down from the tree house, we decided to take a cruise, a Jungle Cruise that is!
Line to Jungle Cruise, no wait!!
Thought this Tarantula was really cool, had a little compressor underneath to make him appear to lunge in his cage
Crew’s lunch menu, don’t think this is part of the dining plan
Employee of the Month
Venom & Mosquitoes, eek!
Looks like we are in head hunter territory
Really nice plastic animals, we will see some real ones later
Cute Plastic Gazelle
Our Tour Guide, Jordan
He was good, quick on the puns which is why we love the Jungle Cruise, but the volume needed to be adjusted on the intercom, very pitchy.
After that we headed to the Tiki Room, where I found out they kicked out the new management and went back to the original!! Yay!!
We listened to Claude and Clyde’s preshow
Better look at Claude and Clyde
Us waiting to go inThe cast members interact with the birds a few times during the show, they “interrupted” Claude and Clyde’s very interesting story, lol, to tell us they were ready for us inside .
Once inside they “wake” up Jose and the show begins. As usual some people walked out of the show, I guess it is not for everyone. But me on the other hand, I was doing tiki chants and singing the tiki room song all day 🙂
I am so happy they brought the original back!
With the Tiki room melody dancing in my head, we decided to board a ship and set sail to the Caribbean at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride
The line was amazingly short so I was unable to get pictures of the line decor, which I love so much, including the skeletons playing chess.
We were a little confused when we realized that Black beard had taken over for Davy Jones, especially since we were told that was one of the differences from Disneyland’s attraction. However, I did love the addition of the mermaid skeleton and the singing sirens in the water.
After we saw Captain Jack Sparrow inside the ride, we encountered him outside, doing a pirate Tutorial
Captain Jack with a princess turned pirate
Captain Jack, his first mate and a very scurvy little pirate 🙂
Splash Mountain was under refurbishment, which is fine, seeing as I am not a big fan of the story or getting wet on rides. So we headed for Thunder Mountain grabbed a fast pass for later and then hopped in line to find out the Train was not running 😦 However, they told us if the ride wasn’t working when our fast pass was up (which it wasn’t) that we could come back and they would honor it at anytime that day.
A very quiet, Splash Mountain
We were trying to decide where to go in the little area behind Splash Mountain when we noticed Jessie and Woody were in this area for a meet n greet, excitedly we hopped into line.
Our autograph page had Buzz and Woody on it and no Jessie, since I was unaware we could meet her but she was so sweet about it. She pointed to Buzz and then put her heart on her chest and mimicked it beating, then she giggled. I forgot about her crush on Buzz.
Jessie and Woody’s signatures
After the meet n greet, we decided to go visit my favorite place, so I could visit the graveyard in the day light to pay our respects and maybe get to enjoy more of the interactive queue without the lines
My new favorite spot the lake between Frontier land and Liberty Square because you can get The Haunted Mansion and Rapunzel’s Tower in one shot! I love it!
Ready to board you “Doom Buggy”?!
Bat gate at entrance
Haunted Mansion Plaque
RIP Mr Toad
The Haunted Mansion The Bat Weather Vane (It is a Ship in Disneyland)
Beautiful shot of roses taken by Hubby Entrance to new queue
Better shots of the Dread Family
Someone was standing in front of Bertie, so here he is alone
Grandpa Marc is now closer
As well as Francis Xavier
The musical crypts with hubby playing the instruments
Hubby’s “Organ Player” pose, you will see this again later 🙂
Better view of the Captain
Brother Dave and others
We found Gus, he Ezra and Phineas have now been added to the cemetery for us fan of the hitch hiking trio
Leota was caught with her eyes open!
And she is done!
Again I had too much fun to take photos inside but I did have the thought enough to try to catch our hitch hiker, we got Ezra! You can see him sitting happily in our doom buggy!
Like I said before we always get Gus and Ezra is my favorite, so that was exciting. The new ghosts work on something like the kinect software and interact more with the guests. I believe Ezra took our spirits and switched them with the other, where as the day before Gus took our heads and traded them. Really neat!
On the way out, Bluebeard’s crypt
From here will with head over to Fantasyland but I will save that till Monday! I hope you all have enjoyed this weeks travel report, enjoy your weekend and meet me here on Monday for more Disney World fun!!
