Detour in chicago

So weather postponed us in chicago tonight. So after a million calls, a few tears for a missed flight, and a very long day, we hopped the subway to try some authentic chicago pizza. Taking off again tomorrow to paris!!!

image

We can now claim we have A) been to Chicago B) rode the subway and C) had real Chicago pizza

We ordered a small pizza and couldn’t finish it! We ended up with one delicious piece left for breakfast before our flight!

Dressing for Disneyland Paris

Ok, I lied. Sorry but I thought I would be able to go from that last post to Paris and be fine but I have been driving everyone I know crazy bouncing off the walls on a excitement filled, pumpkin spice latte fueled Paris frenzy and now… it is your turned to be driven insane

image

See, it isn’t a bad thing, now is it?!

I can’t help it, really the unknown of this Disney trip is really a new thing for me, being a seasoned Disney pro, so this excitement is brand new type.

I was packing and planning my wardrobe and hubby brought up something I would never worry about at Disneyworld or Disneyland California, clothes for photos.
I mean it is Disney right? Why does wardrobe matter other than the prerequisite that it should have some touch of Disney in it.

But he was right. This is Paris, a place of fashion, style and chic people. So I had to rethink living in my new Disney World 1971 hoodie the whole week (I am intending on wearing it but more on the plane and at night.)

image

I mean it is an awesome new piece of my Disney closet and I love it. However, here is my chic and functional welcome to Paris Disneyland look.

I LOVE color, I know not the best for Paris, I have heard over and over again, “wear black,” so I will. However, I will also have my color in my accessories.

So first we start with my awesome clip on Minnie ears, I can’t go to the park without them but they are small so I can stash them in my purse for the flight and the train ride there.

image

Next, remember the black bleach Mickey head shirts we made for WDW? Well I figured it is a chic version of my Mickey shirts and it is mostly black, so that is my top.

image

I added a coral cardigan since we are going from 90s here in Texas to low 60s in Paris.

image

Also, I am a scarf fanatic, so I am using the fact that the Parisians love scarves as a chance to don all my Disney scarves. Multi colored Mickey scarf today!

image

For the bottom half a pair of black skinny jeans and my new black Delaney boots and viola!

image

image

We are ready for Paris. I also added my Peridot version of this ring because I love it and it is Disney.

image

So in less than 24 hours, we will be boarding our plane for Paris and I hope I am chic enough for the adventure. I will let you know when we return!

Excitement

Oh my gosh! I am SO excited, I am Paris is 3 days. Did you hear me? Well I guess you didn’t seeing as I am writing, so let me rephrase that. Did you see that?! 3 days away!!! Also I am excited since it is now officially my favorite season…. FALL!!

image

So on our excursion this weekend to finish gathering our travel supplies for France; we felt the cool of Fall on the air and also found Halloween stuff! But what is even better than Halloween Stuff is Disney Halloween Stuff and we found some!

First stop, Target!!!

Target never seems to disappoint when it comes to Halloween. I always find the best stuff there. I mean, check these out! Awesome foam Medusa wigs, don’t we look chic?!

image

They also had some must have animated creatures that I would LOVE to add to my already extensive collection of Halloween goodies. An owl who hoots and his head rotates, a red eyed raven in a cage who caws and his eyes flash, plus this adorable bat candy dish who talks, flaps and also has flashing eyes.

image

image

image

There is also a new line of paper goods, including these plates and napkins which I bought for my Halloween theme. There are also these super cute goody bags that resemble monsters in cages.

image

image

There is no shortage of treats to adorn these lovely plates and gift bags either. They had royal sugar pumpkins wearing moustaches, pumpkin bars, pumpkin cheesecake cakes, candy corn Oreos, and a variety of gummies to make my hubby drool. The gummies range from cute to cleverly grotesque all in one end cap. You could choose anything from gummy pumpkins to ground zombie and gummy tongues. Oh how I LOVE Halloween!!

Now onto the Disney stuff, Target had monster plushies of Mike and Sulley from “Monsters University” (Mike even has his retainer on.) As well as Muppet plushies of Kermit and Fozie all dressed up to scare. And speaking of dressing up, they had a variety of ways to Disney-ify your pumpkin as well. The line up included princesses, Avengers, Star Wars and Mickey and Minnie kits. So whichever branch of Disney you chose, your pumpkin will be covered.

image

image

image

Now onto CVS!

CVS has a small aisle of Halloween; however there were still some note worthy Disney items to be found.
There were figurines of Mickey as pirate (my favorite), Pluto as a clown, and Minnie as a witch. Also there were mini snow globes and pumpkin picks to dress your pumpkin up like that silly old bear, Pooh.

While we are on the subject of Disney Halloween, the Disney blog had some amazing prints that will be shown in the month of October.

Jasmine Becket-Griffith’s “Bride” will be shown on October 19th at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District as part of the current exhibit, titled Pop Fusion from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m

image

Also Haunted Memories (Eddie Allen) “Marsh” can be seen October 5 – October 27

image

All this Halloween stuff just makes me giddy and I am bouncing off the walls waiting for Paris already.

I just can’t wait for all these exciting things. Next time you see me, I will be back from Paris with an incredible Disneyland Paris trip report. I can’t wait!
So as Mickey would say in French, à bientôt réel! (see ya real soon!!!)

Special birthday decor

Hi everyone, sorry these last few weeks have been hectic but I am back with another birthday themed post for you.  I know how much everyone loves birthdays and this one is special, not just because it is mine but because this one was made by someone other than me. Heather and My wonderful husband are responsible for this birthday and as a bonus it is Disney!

“Monsters University”, to be exact!

I walked into work and the first thing I could see was this GIANT Mike Wazowski balloon, isn’t he cute!?

image

As I approached my desk I could see a nod to the original “Monsters Inc” movie with a adorable pink door reminiscent of Boo’s. Those are mine and hubby’s nicknames for each other, so I thought that was perfect.

image

There were also MU pennant everywhere and really awesome pictures from the movie.

image

image

image

image

          I also got special balloons.

image

I even received my own MU id card, so I can attend

image

After I was done admiring all the hard work from my friends and family, I got to open presents. I mean, who doesn’t love present?!

image

I received the coolest Pascal purse from Windy! I also got my very own play set with all the monsters from the movie, a roll and pop Sulley (he is SO cute) and Heather even crocheted the COOLEST Mike Wazowski I have EVER seen!
                     Check him out!

image

So yeah, I guess I am a little spoiled, but it was a WONDERFUL birthday! This was just the beginning; hubby planned more stuff for that evening and my actual birthday (which was the next day.) Stay tuned for the rest of the birthday fun
