Hi guys, as promised yesterday, we are starting today with the rest of Day 3 at Hollywood Studios. We finished lunch and had 15 minutes until the Indiana Jones stunt show, so we grabbed a good seat just in time.
Some of the awesome sets
We didn’t take any pictures during the show because we were enjoying it and the people were everywhere but it was fun. They do stunts from some of the Indie movies and include guest participants in some stuff
Next The Great Movie Ride
The ride was well the ride, but they changed it from the Gangster scene to the Western scene, I preferred the gangster. I know this is one that Kris will never want to go on again, it is definitely dated and we had the worst actors I think I have had in all my times on the ride. But I felt he needed to experience it at least once.
From there we went to do Star Tours
The ride was fun as usual but we always seem to get in trouble with Darth Vader, we rode twice and then headed over to see Lights, Motor, Action but first we got shrunk and wandered around in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground
That was fun, never really walked around in there and through all the caves, has some really nice details.
Lights, Motor, Action
Lightning Mcqueen- Kachow!
Hidden Mickey in water at stunt show
The show was cool and they show alot of tricks that they use. I liked it but the smell of the burnout and fire kinda got to me. After the show we started our way back to the other side of the park for our dinner reservations at the Brown Derby, I still wasn’t feeling 100% so we stopped at Pizza Planet so I could wash my face and Kris could see the theming.
Pizza Planet oooooooohhh!
I felt much better after and we headed to dinner after getting a Maleficent pressed penny from the machine at Pizza Planet 🙂
We headed over to the Brown Derby and were seated in about 10 minutes. We were greeted by this beautiful table. A round booth with confetti on it and champagne and strawberries
We don’t drink but we truly enjoyed the gesture, we made a toast and took a sip and ate the strawberries 🙂
The Menu- it was so large I had to take separate pictures
Our handmade Mickey
Caricatures on the wall
For our appetizers, I ordered Andouille-crusted Prawn over Black Diamond Cheddar Grits, Wilted Greens, and Ancho Oil
They were both really good, but we LOVED the grits, so good.
For our Entrees, I got Char-glazed Filet of Beef with a Red Wine Reduction, topped with a Cabernet and Roasted Shallot Butter, over White Truffle Oil Wild Forest Mushroom Mashed Potato, Sautéed Haricot Verts, and Golden Beets
Kris ordered Free-Range Roasted Breast of Chicken stuffed with Sweet Pepper, Chorizo, and Smoked Cheddar Cheese over a Celery Root Purée, Coriander-dusted Jumbo Asparagus, and a Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
But as you can see from the plate, it was awesome.
The filet was cooked perfectly and the compound butter was delicious. The chicken was nice and the stuffing was so good. Yum!
They were both beautiful but the orange chocolate was too much for me and it was all I could taste. The banana tower was AMAZING! I think it was our favorite dessert of the trip!
Was the best dining experience of the trip, our waiter Jerry was very nice and attentive and shared stories about Jamaica with us (where we honeymooned), the food was great and the environment was very romantic. We really enjoyed it.
Once we were done with dinner it was time for our fast passes for Toy Story Mania, so we made our way over to the Pixar Studio area and hopped in line
The theming is too cute, love the child drawing of Buzz
Our scores, think we did pretty good 🙂
Next we decided to check out The Legend of Jack Sparrow
The talking skull
the setTruthfully this was a big let down to me, I expected a show and it turned out to all take place in this area, all standing huddled next to each other.
The project things around the room, on the screen on the ship and on the ship. Lots of stomping your feet and being a pirate by saying Argh! To help defeat baddies, nothing I feel I will need to do again
The ship was neat looking though
After that we were determined to get on the Rocking Roller coaster since we couldn’t get a fast pass and it was the last ride we needed to do at the park. So we hopped in line, wait said 30 was probably closer to 50.
I totally forgot how fast the take off is on that ride, but it was fun, even with my head banging into the restraints the whole time, lol!
After we did some shopping, I was determined to get my much earned Hollywood Tower Shirt, since I didn’t get one in Disneyland
Awesome window display at the Tower
Hubby’s new Chernabog shirt
If you like Noah’s work and can’t head out to Disney, you can order some of the Giclee’s at the Disney Store site or get the shirts and prints at Noah’s site here. I ordered the Evil Queen apple shirt yesterday, since I talked myself out of it while we were there, I know silly, huh?!
Kris told me I should have bought it there (and he was right), but with shipping it cost about the same as buying it then, so I am cool with getting it two weeks late.
Then we went to see if Starring Rolls was still open, to cross another cupcake off our list, sadly they were not.
Then we headed back to the hotel on the bus, still in time to check out the shop and get drinks before heading to our room for the night.
Our walk back to our room
Mufasa and Simba
Dinglehopper, you’re doing it right!
That’s it! We finished Day 3, tomorrow is Day 4, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach!
Can’t wait to tell you all about it!
