Hi everyone, as promised we are starting today at Epcot (I wish I was there right now.)
From our room we walked back to the bus stop and boarded the Disney Transportation that is free staying on property. The buses go from hotel to park and from park to hotel, so if you are eating at a hotel other than your own or wanting to go to another park from the one you are currently at, then you have to do some transferring (more on that tomorrow.)
In this instance, we were off to Epcot, so straight shot, bus to Theme Park.
Once we were dropped off at the bus stop, we were ready to go.

Ok, this is one ride that I think I will skip next time but seeing as this was hubby’s first time, we did it. It was a slow and I mean slow moving trip through the past to our future and I wish I had got pictures once inside. Because at the end of the ride they take use a picture of you which is taken during the ride, cut off your head and post it on little bodies to depict your future vacation. It was hilarious! My little head complete with mickey ears in a scuba suit under the water. Worth a laugh at least 🙂 And we can say, yep we’ve done that!
Now that we are here, we had decided Authentic Italian pizza was the goal. So off to Italy we ran, rushing our way through, so we could eat before we ate dinner, I know, I know!
So we rounded the countries so quickly that there are no pictures this first day, but trust me you will see plenty on our day 7 of park hopping.
I love Epcot, cause look, we are in Italy:)
It had a really decent selection of everything ranging from fresh fruits to very large pizzas, since we had the dining plan we each got an appetizer, a pizza and a dessert, so we opted for different items to get to try more. Before I unveil our selections, I must show you this beautiful restaurant and its really awesome brick ovens.

Now onto the food
They were both good, but I would have rather eaten the Arancini. It was delicious, something I think I will be craving from now on. The Calamari wasn’t too different (hubby really enjoyed it though) from anywhere else we would order it from but I did enjoy the lightness of the batter.
Onto the Pizza, Kris’ true reason for the venture.
I have to say, that pizza was delicious! Truly wonderful and alas, I will have to go to Italy or Epcot to find it again. It was thin but not crispy and the cheese was so ooey and gooey. Makes me hungry just writing about it.
Here is what hubby had to say about the pizza, ” I would just like to mention that the crust was amazing. I am totally a dough guy and it can really make or break a pizza. It was thin (not crunchy), soft, not overworked, foldable and it simply cradled all of the toppings perfectly. Simple ingredients done with care makes these pizzas a definite on the “to try” list. “
So onto Dessert (did I mention we have dinner reservations at 6?!)
Hubby got Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni – Ugly, but good. Amarena cherry and vanilla gelato sundae with ugly, but good cookies of carnevale
I love Tiramisu and this was delicious but they were right about hubby’s dessert, it was really good, the cherry with the chocolate and the crunch from the cookie pieces, oh I think I am drooling!
I have to say, Via Napoli will now be on our must have meals when at Epcot from now on. I can’t believe I had never tried it before. If you get a chance to go, take it!
Shot leaving Napoli
On our way across the countries to ride some rides, find the Cool Club, and hopefully digest a bit, we stumbled on this box of art and hubby pointed out the Van Gogh (I love Van Gogh as most of you know) when we got home I almost deleted the shot due to the shadows. Then, I realized, look on the left, there is a hidden Mickey. Too cool!
Next stop, I think my husband’s favorite part of the trip, Club Cool
For those of you who have been reading for a while, you may have seen me mention Club Cool before. It is a really neat spot in Epcot where you can try 8 different sodas from around the world and its FREE!
Ok I think we will start with this one!
Ok my husband makes this stuff look tolerable, unfortunately my palate absolutely hated it!
The bitter licorice flavor was way too strong for me and I would put it on my top 5 worst flavors out there, next to Harry Potter every flavor beans Rotten Egg flavor. Yuck!!!
We did like the rest. Here they are
- Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique
- Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica
- Beverly from Italy
- Vegeta Beta from Japan
- Kinley Lemon from Israel
- Lift Apple from Mexico
- Smart Watermelon from China
- Mezzo Mix from Germany
So our Favorites were Smart Watermelon, Kinley Lemon (I loved this it is like liquid Lemon heads, yum!) and the Mezzo Mix (orange and coke)
The Cool Club is super fun and free, we did this a few times on the trip and yes, stupidly tried the Beverly again too (it did not get any better.)
Next up we found some really awesome topiaries for the upcoming Monsters inc movie. So cute
But first we saw Winnie The Pooh in UK as we were leaving to head to Future World
Once in Future World we assessed the times, since we didn’t have time for fast passes. Mission Space had a 10 minute wait, so we were off to become astronauts. And we chose the Orange side, with the spinning, yay!
Our warning placard 🙂
After we successfully completed our simulation of a flight to Mars, we went to my favorite ride. Journey into Imagination with Figment.
It was our first time together riding it, so no pics yet, but I promise you will see plenty of Figment before this trip is over.
Man those topiaries rock!
Next Dinner at Ohana, mode of transportation Monorail!
Waiting for Monorail!!
Come back tomorrow and I will share everything about Dinner at Ohana, how to get around Disney and our first trip to Magic Kingdom 🙂
